Vieques is an island eight miles off the east coast of Puerto Rico. It is the western most island in the string of islands known as the Virgin Islands, and with its neighbor Cuelbra is often referred to as the Spanish Virgin Islands.
Vieques is home to the largest nature preserve in the Caribbean as well as Mosquito Bay, the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world. The island is also world-renowned for its beautiful uninhabited beaches.
Vieques is a nature lover's paradise, offering activities such as sailing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, and horseback riding. With its many beautiful and isolated beaches, you will never feel crowded. And when you are out at night on the bioluminescent bay or having drinks on the deck of a restaurant, don’t forget to look up. On a clear night the sky is a blanket of stars.
